{"id":8413,"date":"2020-01-21T12:56:03","date_gmt":"2020-01-21T04:56:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.gallhk.com\/statutory-holidays-could-increase-from-12-to-17-days-per-year\/"},"modified":"2022-01-21T14:28:00","modified_gmt":"2022-01-21T06:28:00","slug":"statutory-holidays-could-increase-from-12-to-17-days-per-year","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.gallhk.com\/cn\/statutory-holidays-could-increase-from-12-to-17-days-per-year\/","title":{"rendered":"\u52b3\u8d44\u4e8b\u52a1\u7126\u70b9\u52a8\u6001\uff1a\u6bcf\u5e74\u7684\u6cd5\u5b9a\u5047\u65e5\u53ef\u80fd\u4ece12\u5929\u589e\u52a0\u523017\u5929"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>\u9999\u6e2f\u7279\u522b\u884c\u653f\u533a\u884c\u653f\u957f\u5b98\u6797\u90d1\u6708\u5a25\u4e8e2020\u5e741\u670814\u65e5\uff08\u5468\u4e8c\uff09\u5ba3\u5e03\uff0c\u653f\u5e9c\u8ba1\u5212\u5c06\u9999\u6e2f\u7684\u6cd5\u5b9a\u5047\u65e5\u4ece12\u5929\u589e\u52a0\u523017\u5929\u3002<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Statutory\nHolidays<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Currently,\nan employee, irrespective of his length of service, is entitled to 12 statutory\nholidays under the Employment Ordinance (Cap. 57), namely:-<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>First day of January; <\/li><li>Lunar New Year\u2019s Day; <\/li><li>Second day of Lunar New Year; <\/li><li>Third day of Lunar New Year; <\/li><li>Ching Ming Festival; <\/li><li>Labour Day; <\/li><li>Tuen Ng Festival; <\/li><li>Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Establishment Day; <\/li><li>The day following the Chinese Mid-Autumn Festival; <\/li><li>Chung Yeung Festival; <\/li><li>National Day; and<\/li><li>Chinese Winter Solstice Festival or Christmas Day (at the option of the employer). <\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>An\nemployee is entitled to holiday pay for each statutory holiday taken if he or\nshe has been employed under a continuous contract for 3 months or more\nimmediately preceding a statutory holiday. Holiday pay is calculated by\nreference to the daily average of wages earned during the 12-month period prior\nto the statutory holiday. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>General\nHolidays<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In\naddition to the statutory holidays, Hong Kong has 5 additional general holidays\nwhich must be kept as holidays by all banks, educational establishments, public\noffices and Government departments (pursuant to the General Holidays Ordinance\n(Cap. 149) (\u201cGHO\u201d)), namely:-<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Good Friday; <\/li><li>The day following Good Friday; <\/li><li>Easter Monday; <\/li><li>Christmas Day and<\/li><li>The first weekday after Christmas.&nbsp;&nbsp; <\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>Whilst\nthe GHO does not require an employer to make payment of holiday pay on these\ngeneral holidays, in practice, many businesses do grant paid leave to their\nemployees on the general holidays. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In\nHong Kong, it is typical that many blue-collar employees only enjoy statutory\nholidays whilst white-collar workers have the benefit of general holidays.
